"2 Good, 2 Bad"...How much should we analyse?

Written by:

I was having a discussion with Mark about how much analysis is necessary, and we thought of a very simple way to get started.

For anyone who is familiar with Match of the Day 2, you will be aware of their feature "2 Good, 2 Bad", and it made us think that maybe this isn't a bad place to start.

There is some excellent work being done by the coaches on Coach Logic, who are using the tagging and comments system to great effect. However, we want everyone to get maximum benefits out of using the system, whilst also appreciating the time constraints placed on both coaches and players.

So, why not consider following the '2 Good, 2 Bad method'. Basically, once you have completed your tagging of the game, highlight two good examples of play and two examples of play that could be improved on.

Adding a specific comment to a tag.

Adding a comment to a tag couldn't be easier.[/caption]

The easiest way to do this is by adding comments to the specific tags you want to highlight, which your players will also see. These could even be questions that you want your players to answer, which they can in the comments section below, thus improving the learning process and committing it to their long-term memory to maximise performance.

If you need some pointers on how to do this, then check out our Video Tutorial on Creating Event Filters and Tagging Video. It also gives you the chance to get familiar with the dulcet tones of co-creator Mark:)

I hope you find this useful, and would welcome your feedback.

Andy
