Coach Logic, the video analysis platform that supports individual and team development at all levels of performance, has teamed up with USA Field Hockey in a new commercial partnership.
Through the partnership, USA Field Hockey, the national governing body for field hockey in the United States, will have exclusive distribution rights for the Coach Logic platform. All teams in the United States that sign up for the Coach Logic system will be able to access a reduced partner price.
Co-founder of Coach Logic, Mark Cairns, said:
“This is a commercial partnership that will support the national and domestic teams alongside coaching. We understand that times are tough for sports organisations at the moment so we have worked a deal which will allow USA Field Hockey to invest back into the game.”
With the coaching and performance landscape currently in disarray due to the global pandemic, Coach Logic are also supporting the national association to deliver online coaching and remote mentoring to its member teams. This is not purely a pandemic-related service, the ability to serve an online community will be highly valuable in a country as vast as the United States.
For the Junior US Men’s and Women’s National Teams, Coach Logic will allow the coaches to stay connected with their players wherever they are in the world. With national team players currently playing in Europe, the ability to engage with the athletes regularly is vitally important and Coach Logic provides the perfect solution.
USA Field Hockey’s Senior Manager of Coaching and Performance, Phil Edwards said:
“With around 200 Junior U.S. National Team athletes spread across the United States and in Europe, being able to create an effective communication space is critical to building the program and supporting player development at the best of time, never mind during a global pandemic. Coach Logic affords us the opportunity to bring all our analysis and communication into one space and allows players and staff to collaborate effectively even though we may be thousands of miles apart.”
With the Coach Logic platform filtering to the teams that comprise the USA domestic game – largely the highly competitive collegiate system – the national squad coaches will be better equipped to spot and track talent and make sure players are supported to reach their potential.
Talking about the relationship between Coach Logic and USA Field Hockey, Cairns added: “I have always got on really well with Phil from a coaching perspective, we share similar values and exchange information even though we coach different sports. Phil has always been open to sharing his knowledge.”
Coach Logic was borne out of two Physical Education and coaching specialists’ desire to improve their feedback to their students. Both Cairns and co-founder Andy Muir, believed that athletes performed best when they had a good and in-depth understanding of the game and each individual’s role within it.
Cairns said: “We have always focused on developing a product for the coach and player where the video was a key learning asset rather than a statistics generator. Our recent integration with other analysis products has allowed us to make the leap into the elite game to make these products more impactful within the development of players. We have also introduced a few other features including playlists which are a key feature for USA-based athletes looking to get themselves onto a scholarship programme.”
Edwards added: “We are delighted to partner with Mark and Coach Logic to help us continue to drive our Junior High Performance programming forward. Being able to bring Coach Logic to the American market really adds value to our USA Field Hockey Members. I encourage all coaches at the club, high school and college levels to check out the platform to see how it could benefit yoru team or teams.”
